The Adventist Development and Relief Agency.
 
ADRA was established by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to:

PROVIDE humanitarian relief and welfare.

REFLECT the character of God.

BUILD networks that develop indigenous capacity, appropriate technology, and skills at all levels.

ACTIVELY SUPPORT communities in need.

WORK through equitable partnerships with those in need.

DEVELOP and maintain relationships with our partners, which provide effective channels for mutual growth and action.

PROMOTE and expand the equitable and participatory involvement of women in the development process.

ADVOCATE for and assist in the increased use of communities capacities.

FACILITATE the right and ability of all children to attain their full potential.
 
HOW YOU CAN HELP | DONATE ONLINE

Your contributions to ADRA International, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are deductible for computing income and estate taxes. Donations are used to support ADRA's programs, and are put to work to help the needy, especially the children. ADRA endeavors to make the best use of your donation, and strives to keep administrative costs to 10.5% or less.

1956
SAWS (Seventh-day Adventist Welfare Service) was established.

1958

22 countries (with a total of $485,000) reported relief shipments.

Mid-1970s
Long-term development programs were established.

1983
SAWS become ADRA to better reflects its overall mission and activities.

1997
The Agency was granted General Consultative Status by the United Nations

1998
it assisted more than 18 million people with more than US$133 million in aid.

2005
More than 4,000 ADRA staff members currently work in more than 120 countries worldwide.
